Casa Madrona Vow Renewal Part I

Overlooking the San Francisco Bay from the mansion balcony of Casa Madrona, Amber & Brad's vow renewal ceremony was such a dream. Following the ceremony we headed down to the docks, I just love how the mansion provided the most dreamy backdrop! Guests mingled all night while enjoying the fresh air and luxurious vibe, noshed on sushi, tapas and cake made from fine cheese wheels.

PS Does she look a little familiar? Yes! She's the twin sister of my gorgeous bride, Hilary (who just had the most darling baby girl btw) whose wedding I photographed in Italy!!

Personal Branding Shoot
The Sketchbook Series

We were approached by our dear friend, Mary Phan who wanted to a little extra slice of fabulous to elevate her new baby, The Sketchbook Series brand. Former Wedding & Event Designer, Mary has embraced her creativity and began teaching other event planners and designers her unique and illustrious ways of communicating with her clients. Because this is such a personal brand and service, we decided the best place to shoot would be her Alameda studio. She brought all of her favorite pieces and we had a blast with creating different looks embodying what the Sketchbook Series is all about. Whenever I think of Mary, I see a bright effervescent smile and charismatic personality, so we of course had to capture than, but like most artists, she often gets mesmerized within her work and we wanted to also show the calm in her too. I'm so proud of how many people you have already touched and inspired with your talent and first hand knowledge. I got to take a mini sketchbook series class for an Oh So Inspired Retreat I attended and I have to admit, I daydream of pretty prints I could be making - I actually plan to take a class and bring my mom and sis with me for a fun girls day! Check out Mary's travel schedule for a class near you, could be a prefect gift for the creative lover!

Old Shanghai

Getting a call from the ladies of Old Shanghai to photograph their 2015 Lookbook for their beautifully hand painted silk kimono robes was such a dream come true. I LOVE photographing lookbooks & fashion campaigns, and I just knew that this was going to be such an amazing project. Of course we wanted to capture the luxury and feeling you get when slipping one on, but we also wanted to emphasize just how necessary they are to live a fabulous life! Little luxuries like these soft beauties can only make you enjoy life's simpler things that much more. And who doesn't love something that is so versatile, you can even through it on over a t-shirt and jeans!

I knew when assigning a stylist to the project that I wanted someone with a bold, yet refined sense of style and I just knew Emily Jayne Scott was who I wanted to work with for this! I just love how the robes seem to float on Jossalyn, so soft and dreamy to go with the perfect styling for the mood. I hope you enjoy!

Game of Thrones
Designer Baby Shower for my baby sis

When we found out my baby sister was having a little boy, I knew that I wanted to have it somehow revolve around her and little prince. Along with our husbands, we are both huge fans of the show Game of Thrones and I am absolutely in awe of the sets and costumes, I seriously dream about the fashion. So when brainstorming about how to theme my Little Prince Baby Shower, it clicked! GAME OF THRONES!!! Not cheesy or gory, but like a big celebratory feast with lots of candle light, fresh fruits, loaves of bread, wine flowing and accents of brass and dark jeweled tones. I had the idea to create a wall feature with some personalized banners just for Lindsay and Drew, the first, a silhouette of a German Shepard with the ears tweaked larger to resemble their own Shepard mix, Sadie. The second banner had a 'W' for their House Name, and the final a Viking hat to signify both of their Nordic ancestry. PJ worked with a combination of her treasures and mine adding in leafy greens, berries, and citrus from my backyard. For lunch we served 'Pigeon Pie' (hand-made by mom and dad) which were little chicken and apple stuffed hand pies, Potato Porridge, and a fresh Spinach Salad. And how amazing is this cake we worked with Katrina Rozelle to design?! Perfection! This was hands downs the most beautiful event my mom and I have ever thrown and there is no one more deserving of it than my little princess.

Hilary & Sean Tie the Knot on the Amalfi Coast
Part Two

Here is the second part of Hilary & Sean's dreamy Amalfi Coast wedding! We have only begun to scratch the surface of this incredible venue! Wait until you see the Crypt where the newly wed couple celebrated with dinner and dancing. AMAZING!!!

Words from the Bride and Groom
Un invito ad amare – Some say it’s not where you are but who you're with that matters, we decided to combine the two. A late summer wedding on the Amalfi Coast of Italy with our closest friends and family, what could be better?

The inspiration was simple – Natural beauty meets ethereal elegance; the biggest hesitation was defining the theme. I just had an idea of the look I wanted which was an organic, effortless, romantic vibe.

Each location was carefully chosen to exemplify the “destination” in Destination Wedding. We knew that if we got it right, our guests would deliver the final contribution: their own unique love and energy, making this an unforgettable trip. The wedding dress: I decided to work with local San Francisco talent, Suzanne Hanley at Atelier des Modistes. The dress holds special significance since it is one of a kind, and involved a monthly ritual involving my fiance in the quaint neighborhood of Russian Hill. Sean often enjoyed beer and pizza next door while the Powell/Hyde cable trolley passed by, waiting hours as Suzanne and I perfected our vision. Luna Convento for Welcome Dinner – an ancient coastal tower in the town of Amalfi. Designed to set the tone and create the high-level of excitement which was to carry throughout the rest of the week. The décor was kept simple to highlight the beauty of the venue – all white flowers with the world- famous Amalfi lemons incorporated in the floral arrangements.

Villa Cimbrone Wedding Day – the photos speak for themselves. The villa’s origins can be traced back to the 11th century. Once the private estate of a famous Italian aristocrat, now an exclusive 5 star getaway in the quaint town of Ravello.
