Boudoir Engagement Shoot

When fellow photographer / new cherished friend Catherine Hall asked me to photograph her and her love to announce her engagement in a sexy way I was all in! Hmmm I wonder if she had any idea of just how sexy the shoot would actually be?! All I have to say is Maria and I had a BLAST!!!! Catherine and Erik are crazy about each other which can only make for amazing photographs! I love the idea of a Boudoir Engagement! We have been shooting tons of boudoir work lately, but even more so, we are seeing a trend of couples wanting similar shoots and we are loving all the passion! The world needs more passion!

Thank you lovely lady for entrusting Maria and I with such an intimate project, we are eternally grateful for the opportunity, but even more thankful for our friendship :)

Hudson Joseph

Today's Blog Post is dedicated to my sweet little nephew Hudson 'huddy' who turns 1 year old today! This time for me last year, was sort of bittersweet. We had found out we were moving to Kansas City about 6 weeks prior and were planning on moving just a week after our little boo was born. Selfishly, I was hoping he'd arrive early(safely), just so I could hold onto him a little bit longer before moving halfway across the country. Life, like it always does, seemed to have worked itself out as it took a little longer to find our house and we got to enjoy 2 full months with him!

My sister entering motherhood has been such a dream to watch and my little nephew is seriously the sweetest, coolest little guy we ever could have hoped for. Even though we are so far away from him, thankfully my work has brought us home often and we've had many sleepovers together. My kids are obsessed with him and we couldn't be more grateful for this little guy. I'm sorry I'm not there today little boo, but we love you soooooo much and can't wait to squeeze you!

Alright so let's talk for a second about my little sis and the amazing nursery her & her hubby Drew created together! Hudson's California Indie inspired room boasts a reclaimed wood wall, freshly painted retro vintage dresser, a DIY Camel Rocker made from a Vintage Tufted Chair, a Navajo & Faux Fur Rug, and a collection of art & accessories from Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Home Goods, and Hobby Lobby. I got to come in at the help and help out with the styling. I just love how it all came together! Happy birthday my sweet boy, we love you so much!

Happy 2016!

Happy New Year!! I know, I'm late, but well, you know..Twenty-fifteen was a BIG year for us. We welcomed a sweet nephew/cousin in January, my family and I moved halfway across the country, and I officially became a jet-setting traveler for photo shoots & projects. I love how unexpected our work is from from moment to moment. You truly never know what you're going to get. Most times we meet our subjects for the first time the day we photograph them; and other times, when we are lucky, we get to create our magic with some of our favorite professionals and friends working by our side. Photographing people and connection is like having a tiny intimate window into getting to know someone like nobody else really does. Our eye through the lens is constantly searching for those true once in a lifetime moments to not only anticipate and find, but to record. It's amazing the people you meet and not knowing where I'm going next gives me a little sense of adventure. My 2016 is all about balance - I want to wake up earlier every morning, get into an actual routine, dance more, shoot more, gluten less, blog more, and love more. The diversity of my projects - lifestyle, fashion, weddings, branding, boudoir - gives me a fresh perspective with everything we shoot. Our Boudoir Shoots are off the hook, it's an experience of a lifetime that every woman should do more than once. Email us when you are ready to be daring. Be Bold! Do it! studio@jenniferskog.com :)

Cheers to the New Year!

xo,
Jen
