The Walchek Family

I met the Walchek Family through one of my favorite brides, Danielle. They wanted portraits taken at their home in their backyard and LOVE black and white classic images. They have an incredible backyard, but for a day in April it was REALLY unexpectedly hot and very bright outside, so we opted for some shady spots. What a cool, hip family! Everyone was very polite and full of laughs. Man I love my job!

Tiana, Nathan & Kiana

Tiana & Nathan wanted to include their little 8 month old sweet pea, Kiana, in their engagement session, so we made it an Engagement/Lifestyle Family shoot. I've had a few chances to see little Kiana and I can't tell you how much I LOVE her little personality. She is so easy going and mellow and just has the cutest little face and expressions ever! Although mom says as her little personality develops, she is turning more and more into a little diva! We had a fun time around Crissy Field and the Palace of Fine Arts. I can't wait for the wedding this June!

Baby Ava

My good friends Brooke & Jake welcomed the beautiful little Miss Aveline into the world on Aril 9th. Life is such an amazing thing, it's such an honor to get to be here to photograph little Ava's first photo shoot at just 2 weeks old. I watch the joy and happiness that she has brought into their lives and I get so excited for the day that Scott and I get to have one of our own. Brooke just sits there and stare at her in disbelief, she's just perfect in every single way.

Shana & Brandon

I should probably space my posts out a bit, to keep everyone looking everyday, but Shana & Brandon have been waiting too long to check out their sneak peek, so here it goes!!!!

Sometimes, you just have couples that know exactly what to do, Shana and Brandon are one of those couples. I have so many favorites, it was really hard to choose. What I really loved about them is just how they were so relaxed and connected with one another. While shooting them, I became so intrigued by how comforted and at peace Shana was in Brandon's arms. It made for some really beautiful images. I can't wait for their wedding this October at Casa Real!

Melissa & Jimmy

I had fun getting to know Melissa and Jimmy during their engagement session. We stayed casual around Golden Gate Park and then got a little dressier for the Japanese Tea Gardens. Melissa & Jimmy were high school sweet hearts and when I first met with them, Jimmy told me that since the beginning he knew that he was going to marry her. I love the way they look at each other when they forget the camera is there, it's that look of love that I live for. Doesn't Melissa look great in Yellow?!?! I just loved her in that dress!

During our wardrobe change, I received an unexpected phone call from my mom telling me that my cat, Zuko {as in Danny Zuko from the movie Grease} had fallen sick the night before and was currently at the vet struggling to breathe. I was more than an hour away with the vet closing in an hour and I was scheduled to fly out to Austin the next morning. I had to decide right then and there to put him to rest without even getting to say goodbye. It was quite the downer on photographing such a joyous time in Melissa & Jimmy's life. Fortunately, they were able to take my mind off of things and we ended up getting some fabulous shots of the two of them! Thanks so much Melissa and Jimmy for your compassion and understanding.
