Live Boudoir Shoot Results I 04.08.10  |  Boudoir, For Photographers

Whoops! It's been a month! I know I know, I haven't blogged in a while! For whatever reason, I've been boycotting it for a while! I promise I will be better. I have been very busy and we have a ton of shoots to blog!

I had a fantastic time at the WPPI Convention in Vegas last month, but my most favorite part of it was my Boudoir Workshop. We had 9 wonderful ladies join us and 1 incredible model, Steph {and her awesome hubby, Jed}. I wanted to make sure that everyone learned a lot at this workshop, and because I am a much better learner when I am actually doing something, I made a huge part of this a hands on experience. I spoke for a short while, then we got to business, I wanted all of these ladies to leave with some fabulous images to start out their portfolio. Fortunately, I had a willing model who is actually one of my past brides! I had so much fun photographing Steph and Jed's wedding last year, it was so awesome to get to see them again!

When I'm shooting, I'm not actually paying attention to shooting so I was thrilled when Steph was still up for shooting more after the workshop ended. Plus, I didn't want to waste the incredible view and Vegas lights we could see from our balcony. Here's a few shots from my camera at the workshop:

Jed, Steph's husband and biggest fan, shot with me a little to play around with his new Canon 7D. I just love what he came up with!

Live Boudoir Shoot Results II 04.08.10  |  Boudoir, For Photographers

I had a fantastic time at the WPPI Convention in Vegas last month, but my most favorite part of it was our Boudoir Workshop. We had 9 wonderful ladies join us and 1 incredible model, Steph {and her awesome hubby, Jed}. After a brief intro and tutorial on shooting boudoir, I separated the ladies into teams of 2 and gave each team time to style and pose their own mini shoot. This way everyone got a chance to shoot something a little different and nobody was throwing elbows to get the shot! While they shot, I offered suggestions and mentoring! We had a blast, and by the end of the day we all were ready to pass out!

I was so excited to get images back from everyone, they are awesome! It is so awesome to see things from a different perspective, I love how everyone has their own distinctive style. I love teaching photography to other talented photographers; the one thing I try to focus on is encouraging originality, take what inspires you and put your own spin on it. As a result you can clearly see that even though we had the same model and the same setting, everyone came up with our own unique interpretation. We all can learn from each other but I think it’s most important to trust your own vision. Thanks so much ladies, I can't wait to see what you bring to the boudoir industry this year! If you are searching for a boudoir photographer in your area, here are a couple of pics from each of our attendees:

When I'm teaching, I'm not really paying attention to shooting. So after everyone parted ways, I wanted to shoot Steph as a little thank you for coming to Vegas to help us out. Plus, I didn't want to miss out on those Vegas lights we could see from our balcony! We really couldn't ask for a better model and it only makes matters even more special to get to see one of my brides again! Here are a few pics from my camera:
