Adorn Bridal Boutique

A couple of weeks ago Mel and I went to visit my good friend, idol and fellow photographer, >Tanja Lippert. She has just opened up the most amazing vintage bridal boutique in Los Gatos, Adorn! I walked in and completely melted. It's such a beautiful place, you must go check it out - even if you are not a bride there are tons of fabulous vintage party dresses, jewelry, hand bags, men's ties and the list goes on... Adorn also showcases several wedding professional services as well, if you are a bride looking for a little something {old} - visiting is a must!

Haute Bride Spring Collection 2010

Since before I even started planning my wedding, I knew that I wanted to get my jewelry from Haute Bride. Their designs are so incredible that the only problem I was going to have was wanting too many different things! I ended up with a pair of earrings, a necklace and a fabulous hair comb for my big day, allow I wished I would have gotten one of their AMAZING bracelets! I was a bit reserved to have so much bling on my wedding day, but looking back, I wish I would have thought to change up the hair make-up and jewels for a different look at my reception. Why not get a little more spicy and glamourous for the reception? After all, it's your ONE day to really live it up and feel like a million bucks!

So, needless to say, I was ecstatic when Lindsie from Haute Bride contacted me to photograph their 2010 Spring Collection! I immediately called Maria and told her the good news because of course no shoot is complete without Maria Chang! It wo't take long for you to see just how incredible these pieces are, I hope to be invited back for the Fall Collection (hint hint).

Union Street Wedding Ring

My friends at Haute Bride mentioned a super fabulous bridal walk that is coming up this weekend on Union Street in the city! Couture Adventure: Karen from Fresh Bloom

One of my favorite florists, Karen from Fresh Bloom, commissioned us to do a Couture Shoot for her soon to be released new website. As with all of our Couture Shoots, we never know what the creative direction is going to be, until we take into account the personality and outfits brought to the shoot. It's typically like a domino effect - first, we look at the outfits, then we determine the hair and make-up, and lastly we scout the location of the shoot. For obvious reasons, we loved Karen's cute little dress and as soon as we saw it we knew we had to have cherry blossoms. Of course, it was raining on and off and wasn't quite cherry blossom season yet, but we persevered until we miraculously stumbled across there perfect driveway lined with cherry blossoms! I just loved how everything turned out!

We also thought a field of flowers would be perfect since she's a florist, so we made a quick stop and put on her trench for a different look. It was muddy from raining all day, so we did musical chairs with our shoes - Karen took her sexy pumps off and put on my boots then Maria gave me her boots to go shoot while she stayed in the car barefooted. We trek out to the perfect sunny spot, get the shot perfectly set and suddenly rain just starts pouring on us! Absolutely pouring! We start laughing and wonder if it is going to stop, but it just comes flying at us so I made the call to bolt back to the car. All this was happening while Maria is nice and dry laughing her you know what off in the car.
